Trombone
Ben Griffin has played with the HJO since 2007. His rousing solos reflect his vast musical influences (listed below). Ben studied classical trombone at UMass Amherst and earned a degree in jazz trombone at the Manhattan School of Music. He currently teaches Applied Jazz Trombone at UMass Amherst, and has formerly taught at Emerson College (Jazz History), the University of Rhode Island (Applied Classical & Jazz Trombone, Trombone Choir, Jazz Ensemble), and Manchester Community College (Applied Classical trombone). He lives in Springfield, MA. His extracurricular interests include motorcycling, reading, history and philosophy.
